Esplora Saint-Germain-des-Prés (6e)

Despite its age, the district of Saint Germain in the 6th arrondissement retains the youthful, bohemian energy that drew visitors to its doors in the first place. There are postcard-worthy views of streets filled with historic cafes, old churches and picturesque squares dotted with public artwork. Then there’s the shops, shops, shops – small, independent design shops, private art galleries and century-old bookshops rub shoulders with designer boutiques that keep the locals fashionable. During the post war years, historic cafes such as the Cafe Les Deux Magots and Cafe de Flore were the hunting grounds for many a writer, artist and any self-respecting intellectual, such as Ernest Hemingway, James Joyce and Pablo Picasso, and if it was alright for the them, then its alright for us.
