Birds are all twittering away on the peaceful, tree lined streets of Rechavia. Century-old residential buildings rub shoulders with more modern additions. All are spectacularly dressed in the instantly recognizable façades of Jerusalem stone, and don’t they look lovely? One of the oldest neighbourhoods in the city, the Rechavia neighbourhood has a dignified charm about it. Apart from the usual grocery shops, local chemists and some independent cafes and restaurants, the area is undisturbed by the usual retail enterprises and chain shops. Rechavia sits right in the heart of the city so Ben Yehuda High-street, Jaffa Road and the Old City are within easy walking distance.
